Budget Payment Plan

Budget Payment Plan

No one likes surprises in their bill. But today's natural gas prices are changing rapidly. If you don't like the uncertainty of how much your winter gas bills are going to be, consider signing up for the Budget Payment Plan.

While the Budget Payment Plan does not control the cost of gas, it will distribute your natural gas payments more evenly over the year, and you'll have a better sense of how much you'll pay each month.

Over the course of a year you'll pay the same amount you would have without the plan, but it will be spread out among 12 monthly payments.

What the Budget Payment Plan helps you avoid is big swings in your gas bill. So while you won't pay one flat rate, you'll be able to keep your family comfortable all year and avoid dramatic winter increases.

How It Works

With the Budget Payment Plan, North Shore Gas projects how much gas you'll use and how much natural gas will cost over the next 12 months. You are then billed according to these estimates. For years North Shore Gas made these calculations during times of long-term price stability.

But today's gas prices change much more regularly. If the price for natural gas spikes upward or drops dramatically, North Shore Gas will adjust your Budget Payment Plan to more closely reflect the actual costs. Under the Budget Payment Plan, your bills will be kept within a range, but in today's market they can vary month to month.

At the end of your budget year, you will be re-enrolled automatically for the next 12 months. If credit or debit balances exist, they will be factored into your new budget payment amount.
