Faces of Share the Warmth

Higher energy prices this year will likely mean that it will cost more to stay warm this winter. While we all will feel the pinch, our low and fixed income neighbors will be especially affected.

The Share the Warmth fund can make a difference. Share the Warmth is an energy assistance program administered by the Salvation Army and funded through donations from North Shore Gas, our employees and customers, and the City of Chicago. Since 2000, the Share the Warmth fund has provided more than $7 million in grants that match the payments of low and fixed income customers.

The Program

North Shore Gas is partnering with the City of Chicago, the Salvation Army, NBC5 and the Quilt Connection in a campaign called 'Faces of Share the Warmth.' The goal of the campaign is to increase awareness of and donations to the Share the Warmth fund.

Through Customer Connection, your monthly customer newsletter, we will share with you some of the faces of those who give to the fund. More importantly, you'll get to know some of the people who have been recipients, too.

The Quilt of Warmth

The Quilt Connection, a not-for-profit volunteer group, will lovingly weave a patchwork quilt to represent donations collected during the campaign through your generosity. As the fund grows, so will the quilt. This organization was formed in 1996 as a community-building group bringing people together around a common interest.

You can track the progress of the quilt and see how your contributions have helped to make it grow.

North Shore Gas is proud to kick-off the 'Faces of Share the Warmth' campaign by making a generous contribution.
