Reading My Bill

North Shore Gas wants your bill to be as easy to read and understand as possible. Here are a few descriptions of some items on your bill.

Sample Bill

  1. Amount Due
    The amount due is listed near the top of your billing statement and on the payment stub, near the bottom of your billing statement. This is the total amount you are responsible for paying by the payment due date.
  2. Delivery Charge
    The delivery charge is for bringing the gas to your home or business. This amount can vary with the volume of natural gas you use.
  3. Gas Charge
    The gas charge is what it cost North Shore Gas to buy the natural gas on the open market. You pay what we pay for gas with no additional charges.
  4. Taxes
    Taxes and other fees imposed by local and state governments typically represent about 8 percent of your bill.
