Chicagoland Rebates

The Chicagoland Natural Gas Savings Program offers rebates and low-interest loans to encourage customers to make energy-efficient improvements to their homes, apartment buildings and businesses.

Energy Efficiency Rebates

Homeowners, landlords and small business owners are eligible for rebates on energy-efficient furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and insulation purchased between now and February 15, 2010.

To qualify, gas furnaces, boilers and water heaters must be installed by professional contractors. Property owners may opt to self-install attic and wall insulation or hire a professional contractor.

The maximum rebate amounts are: $750 for insulation, $600 for boilers, $450 for furnaces and $400 for water heaters.

To see a full list of eligible models and insulation and learn how to apply, Chicagoland Natural Gas Savings Program or call 866-964-7345. Applications must be made no later than 60 days after the purchase or by March 15, 2010, whichever comes first.

The Chicagoland Natural Gas Savings Program is funded by customers of North Shore Gas, through a line item on the bill called the Enhanced Efficiency Program. The Program is guided by North Shore Gas, the Citizen's Utility Board, the City of Chicago Department of Environment, the Environmental Law and Policy Center, and the Illinois Attorney General's Office.
